The San Pedro Square Market is set to open in Spring 2011 as a public market located in Downtown San Jose. The market will contain approximately 35 distinct businesses providing farm-fresh produce and meats as well as house a unique coffee shop and some restaurants and bars. The market will be nearly 25,000 square feet in total outlined by North San Pedro Street, West St. John Street and N. Almaden Avenue. view site plan
In the center of the facility will be San Jose's oldest building - the Adobe House - and an outdoor plaza that will be home to many performances of live theater and musical entertainment throughout the year.
The market is being modeled after the great outdoor markets of Seattle (Pike Place), Vancouver (Granville Island) and Boston (Faneuil Hall) to complement the successful San Pedro Square Farmers Market now held on Fridays between May and December. This market will be a welcome and wonderful addition to Downtown San Jose.
